Praying the Scriptures

Wednesday Morning Prayer

July 23, 2025

There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Gracious Lord Jesus,

As the first light spills over the Florida Mountains, casting long golden shadows across the desert floor, I rise to greet this new day in Your holy name. The air is still and fragrant with creosote, the hush of morning broken only by the gentle stirrings of life awakening in this quiet land. I breathe it in with a heart full of thanks—thankful for rest, for renewal, and most of all, for the unshakable hope that is mine in You.

“There is salvation in no one else.” How those words ring true in the silence of this sacred dawn. No other name under heaven holds the power to rescue, redeem, and restore. Not the names of kings or prophets, not the voices of culture or creed—only Yours, Jesus. Yours is the name that calms storms and raises the dead, that casts out fear and calls the lost home. Yours is the name that has saved me.

And so, like Peter and John who stood before rulers with hearts on fire and voices unshaken, I ask for the same Spirit today. Fill me with holy boldness and a humble heart. Let me speak truth with grace, and act in love with courage. Let me not shrink back from the name that saved me, but lift it high in every word and step.

I see the desert waking—the brittle mesquite catching fire with light, the sand warming beneath my feet, even the silent stones reflecting the dawn. Creation itself seems to whisper of Your mercy, of a world reborn by grace. If the earth is renewed each morning, how much more is my soul, washed and made whole in You.

Lord, let me live this day as a witness to Your name. Whether in quiet service or unexpected trial, whether among friends or strangers, let my life point to You—the only name by which we must be saved.

In the matchless name of Jesus,

Amen.

May the name of Jesus guide your steps, embolden your witness, and renew your spirit as surely as the sun rises over the desert this day.
