Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
September 1, 2025
If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
O Lord,
As the sun sets on this first evening of September, I pause in the stillness to reflect on the day that has passed and the new month that has begun. The old hours slip quietly behind me, and I stand at the threshold of what is yet to come, mindful of Your promise of renewal.
I thank You for the gift of being made new in Christ—for the grace that washes away what is broken, for the mercy that lifts away my burdens, and for the Spirit that breathes fresh life into weary places of my soul. Truly, the old has passed, and by Your hand, everything becomes new.
Lord, grant me strength to walk in this newness. Teach me to let go of the shadows of fear, doubt, and regret, and to embrace with courage the life You set before me. Shape my steps to be faithful, my words to be gentle, and my heart to reflect Your love in all that I do.
As I rest this night, I trust in Your abiding presence. Guard my sleep with Your peace, renew my spirit with Your love, and awaken me tomorrow with joy for the gift of another day in Christ.
Amen.
May the peace of Christ, who makes all things new, guard your heart and mind this night and awaken you to the dawn of His renewing love.
