Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Evening Prayer
September 10, 2025
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)
O Lord,
I thank You for the light of Your Word that has guided my steps through this day. In moments of clarity and in times of uncertainty, You have been the lamp to my feet and the light to my path, never leaving me to wander alone in the shadows.
Now, as evening settles in and the September twilight deepens, I feel the cool air brush against me, a reminder of the changing seasons. The sky fades from gold to indigo, and the first stars appear, marking both the close of the day and the promise of Your steadfast presence in the night.
I bring before You the weariness I carry—the burdens of tasks unfinished, the questions without answers, the worries that still linger. Yet even here, in the gathering darkness, I trust in Your Word. It is steady when I falter, clear when my own sight dims, and strong enough to show me the next step when I cannot see the whole road ahead.
Grant me rest tonight, Lord—rest that quiets my heart and refreshes my spirit. Wrap me in Your peace, and renew my strength for tomorrow’s journey. As summer gives way to autumn, help me to embrace the transitions in my own life with faith, knowing that change does not dim the radiance of Your light.
I lay down this day in hope, for I know that even in the darkest hours, Your Word continues to shine, leading me onward toward the dawn. May I rise with a heart ready to walk once more in the light of Your truth.
Amen.
May the light of God’s Word guide your steps through the night and lead you in peace toward the dawn of a new day.
