Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
September 19, 2025
You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine, but you shall be for me a priestly kingdom and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites. (Exodus 19:4–6)
Lord Almighty,
I awaken today with gratitude for Your steadfast love. You have carried me through seasons of trial and hardship, and time after time I have seen Your deliverance. Even in the wilderness of my life, You have borne me on eagles’ wings, lifting me beyond what I could endure on my own, and drawing me close into the shelter of Your presence.
As the cool air of September greets me and the changing light hints at the turning of the seasons, I am reminded that You are the God of renewal. Just as summer yields to autumn, so too do You call me to lay aside old burdens and walk faithfully in the covenant You have made with Your people. I am humbled that You name me as part of Your treasured possession, set apart not by my worthiness but by Your mercy.
Strengthen me this day to live as one belonging to Your priestly kingdom and holy nation. May my words be seasoned with grace, my actions shaped by love, and my steps ordered in obedience to Your voice. Let this day, in all its ordinary moments, bear witness to the extraordinary truth that I belong to You.
Into Your hands, I commit this day, Lord. May my life be an offering of faithfulness and praise.
Amen.
May the Lord who carries me on eagles’ wings guide my steps this day, that I may walk in His covenant and shine as part of His holy people.
