Praying the Scriptures
Monday Morning Prayer
September 15, 2025
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8–9)
Lord,
I thank You for this September morning, for the cool air that greets me as the sun rises, and for the gentle signs of autumn approaching—the shifting light, the whisper of harvest in the fields, the quiet promise of change in the air. Each new day is a gift of Your mercy, and I begin it with gratitude.
Your word reminds me, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD.” I confess how often I try to understand and control all things, forgetting that Your wisdom reaches far above mine, as high as the heavens are above the earth.
Today, I bow in humility, acknowledging that I do not see the whole path, nor can I fully grasp Your purposes. Yet I rest in the assurance that Your ways are perfect, even when they seem beyond me.
Guide me, Lord, so that my thoughts may be shaped by Your truth and my actions may follow the path You set before me. Teach me to trust You more deeply, to surrender my will to Yours, and to walk this day in faith and obedience.
May my life this morning and all day long reflect Your higher ways and greater love.
Amen.
May the peace of God, whose thoughts are higher than ours, guide your steps and keep your heart steadfast in His love this day.
