Praying the Scriptures

Monday Morning Prayer

September 22, 2025

He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:10–12)

Lord of mercy and love,

As I wake to this first day of autumn, I thank You for the gift of a new morning and the turning of the season. The air is crisp, the light is shifting, and creation itself seems to whisper of renewal. I am grateful that, just as the earth changes its garments, You clothe me not in judgment, but in grace.

I confess my weakness, Lord. I know the weight of my sins and the frailty of my heart, yet I do not despair, for You have promised forgiveness. In Your compassion, You have removed my transgressions as far as the east is from the west. I cannot measure the distance, nor the height of Your steadfast love—it stretches beyond my sight, yet it carries me here and now.

As the leaves begin to change and the days grow shorter, I see in them a reminder that You are always at work—bringing endings and beginnings, harvest and rest, repentance and renewal. May this season be one of turning closer to You, of living in the freedom of forgiveness, and of walking each step in gratitude.

I entrust this day, and the season that lies ahead, to Your care. May Your steadfast love be my guide, my strength, and my song, now and always.

Amen.

May the steadfast love of the Lord, higher than the heavens and wider than the earth, carry you in peace and hope through this day and the season ahead.
