Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

September 20, 2025

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall laud your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. (Psalm 145:3–5)

Lord,

How great You are, and how unsearchable is the depth of Your majesty! As I rise to greet this new day, I give thanks for the beauty of Your works—the colors shifting on the horizon, the air that now carries a hint of autumn, and the steady rhythm of seasons that proclaim Your faithfulness.

In this turning of the year, when fields yield their harvest and the light of summer begins to soften, I am reminded that each season bears witness to Your providence. Just as generations before me praised Your mighty acts, so too I will lift my voice in thanksgiving and tell of Your wonders to those who come after me.

Teach me today, Lord, to meditate on the splendor of Your majesty in all that I see and do. Let my words build up rather than tear down, my actions point others toward Your goodness, and my heart rest in gratitude for Your unending love. Guide me to live as a faithful witness, carrying forward the story of Your mercy and grace.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised! To You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, be glory now and forever.

Amen.

May the Lord of every season guide your steps this day, filling your heart with praise and your life with the joy of His wondrous works.
