Praying the Scriptures

Thursday Morning Prayer

September 4, 2025

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:5–7)

Merciful Lord,

I rise this September morning with gratitude in my heart, breathing in the coolness of the changing season and the promise of a new day. The air is fresh, the sunlight soft, and all creation seems to whisper of Your mercy that makes all things new.

You have saved me—not because of my works or worthiness, but because of Your great compassion. Through the water of rebirth and the renewing presence of the Holy Spirit, You have washed me clean and clothed me in grace. I am humbled, Lord, to be called Your child, an heir of eternal life through Jesus Christ my Savior.

As the earth turns toward autumn, I sense in the crispness of the morning a reminder that You are always at work, bringing renewal, shaping what has been into what can be. May the same Spirit who was poured out richly on me fill my steps today with hope, courage, and quiet joy.

Carry me in Your grace, Lord, so that my words, my thoughts, and my deeds reflect the life You have planted within me. Let the hope of eternal life steady me in moments of weariness and brighten even the simplest tasks of this day.

In Your mercy, grant that I may walk through this September day in the fullness of Your love, carrying with me the renewal of the Spirit and the hope of the life to come.

Amen.

May the mercy of God, the renewing power of the Spirit, and the hope of eternal life in Christ go with you and sustain you throughout this day.
