Praying the Scriptures

Tuesday Morning Prayer

September 9, 2025

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10–11)

O Lord,

As the sun rises over the eastern horizon, its light spilling across the desert floor and touching the peaks of the Florida Mountains, I pause in awe of Your handiwork. In this early September morning, I thank You for the gift of a new day, for the crispness of the air, and for the steady reminder that Your mercies are new every morning.

Yet, I confess my own weakness before You. Left to myself, I falter and grow weary, but in You I find strength and the power to stand firm. Today, I ask You to clothe me in Your armor: the belt of truth to steady me, the breastplate of righteousness to guard my heart, the shield of faith to extinguish every fiery dart, and the helmet of salvation to keep my mind secure in You. Let my feet be ready with the gospel of peace, and let the sword of Your Spirit—Your holy Word—guide my steps and shape my words.

As I rise into this new day, Lord, I put on Your armor not as a burden but as a blessing, knowing that You are my defender and sustainer. Grant me courage to face temptation, wisdom to walk in Your ways, and grace to reflect Your love in all that I do.

I step forward now with peace in my soul, resolve in my spirit, and trust in Your unfailing guidance. May this day, like the dawn now spreading over Deming, shine with Your light and strength.

Amen.

May the Lord’s strength clothe you, His armor protect you, and His peace guide your steps as you walk faithfully into this new day.
