Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
September 17, 2025
[The crowds] were astounded beyond measure, saying, “He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.” (Mark 7:37)
Lord,
I rise this September morning with gratitude in my heart. The air is crisp, the light stretches longer shadows across the ground, and the fields whisper of harvest yet to come. In these simple signs of the season, I see Your mercies renewed once more, steady and sure as the turning of the year.
I pause in awe at the words spoken long ago: “He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.” How true those words remain today. You are still the One who restores what is broken, who speaks life into silence, who brings hearing where there was only emptiness. Creation itself proclaims Your goodness—the changing leaves, the cool mornings, the promise of fruit from the soil all echo the truth that You do all things well.
This morning, I ask that You would also work such wonders in me. Open my ears to hear Your Word above the noise of the world and my own restless thoughts. Loosen my tongue to speak kindness, encouragement, and truth in love, even when silence feels safer. Let my life today reflect the astonishment of that crowd in Galilee, amazed beyond measure at the power and grace of Jesus.
I entrust this day into Your hands, Lord. May all that I do bring honor to You, who make all things well.
Amen.
May the Lord who makes all things well open your ears to His truth, loosen your tongue to speak His love, and guide your steps in peace this day.
