Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

October 4, 2025

Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. (Mark 7:34–35)

Lord,

This autumn morning greets me with cool air and the soft rustle of leaves drifting to the earth. The stillness of Saturday wraps around me like a gentle cloak, and I pause to breathe deeply of Your creation. In this quiet, I hear Your words: “Ephphatha—be opened.”

Open my heart, Lord, to receive Your love anew. Open my ears, that I may truly hear Your Word and the whispers of Your Spirit guiding me. Open my life, that I may walk more fully in Your presence, free from the clutter and noise that so often weigh me down.

I thank You for the gift of this day, a new beginning shaped by Your mercy and grace. The colors of autumn remind me that You make all things beautiful in their season, and that each sunrise carries the promise of Your faithfulness.

Help me, Lord, to speak plainly with kindness and truth, just as You freed the tongue of the one You healed. Let my words today be a blessing to others, bringing encouragement where there is weariness and peace where there is unrest.

I place this Saturday into Your hands, trusting that whatever it brings, You go before me. Keep my spirit open to Your leading, my voice ready to praise You, and my heart steady in hope.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

May the Lord open your heart, guide your words, and fill your day with His peace and presence.
