Praying the Scriptures

Monday Evening Prayer

December 29, 2025

“Praise the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.”Psalm 106:1

Lord,

On this quiet winter night in Deming, as the desert settles into stillness and the cool air drifts through the open spaces, I pause to give You thanks. Beneath the wide sky scattered with stars, I remember that You are good, and that Your steadfast love endures beyond every season and every turning of my life. In the hush of this Fifth Day of Christmas, my praise rises softly—not in noise or hurry, but in reverent acknowledgment of who You are and how faithfully You have carried me to this moment.

As lamplight warms the room and distant mountains rest in shadow, I reflect on the mercy You have shown again and again. Your goodness has followed me through joy and sorrow, through certainty and doubt, and even now it surrounds me like the quiet night itself. I give thanks not only for blessings easily named, but for the unseen grace that has sustained me, shaped me, and drawn me closer to You over time. In remembering Your works, my heart finds rest in the assurance that Your love has never failed and never will.

Tonight, as Christmas continues to unfold in gentle ways, I offer You my gratitude as an act of trust and praise. Let my thanksgiving deepen into joy that does not fade with the passing days, but grows richer as I linger in Your presence. Receive this quiet prayer as a humble song of thanks, whispered beneath the desert stars, confident that Your steadfast love endures forever and holds me now, just as it always has.

Amen.

May God’s steadfast love surround and sustain us all, filling every heart with quiet joy, deep gratitude, and peace that endures through every season.
