Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Evening Prayer

December 6, 2025

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let everyone who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes take the water of life as a gift.”Revelation 22:17

Lord Jesus,

As night settles softly over the desert and the last light fades behind the mountains, I turn my heart toward You with quiet expectation. In this hush of Advent, I feel the echo of that ancient cry—“Come.” The Spirit whispers it, the Church longs for it, and tonight I join my voice to theirs. Come, Lord Jesus. Come into the stillness of my heart and fill every weary corner with Your life.

I come to You as one who thirsts—not with a thirst this world can quench, but with a deep longing that only Your presence can satisfy. You invite all who are thirsty to come, and so I step toward You in faith, trusting that the water You give flows from the springs of eternal grace. Let Your living water wash over the dryness within me, renewing what has grown brittle, cleansing what has grown clouded, and refreshing what has grown faint.

In this quiet hour, I rest in the promise that Your coming is both near and sure. As the night deepens, so does my hope. Let my heart be like a lamp kept burning—waiting, watching, ready to receive You. And as I wait, teach me to whisper “Come” not only for myself but for the world You love—for every soul longing for mercy, healing, and new life.

Tonight, Lord, I draw near with open hands, ready to receive the gift You offer so freely. Fill me with the water of life. Let it flow through me like a gentle stream in the wilderness, a sign of Your kingdom drawing near.

Come, Lord Jesus.

In this holy stillness, I wait for You.

May the peace and promise of Christ’s coming rest upon us all tonight, filling every heart with hope, longing, and the gentle assurance of His unfailing love.
