Praying the Scriptures

Wednesday Evening Prayer

December 10, 2025

“But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.”Malachi 4:2

Lord,

As this Advent night settles softly around me, I rest in the quiet promise of Your word. I hold close the hope that the sun of righteousness will rise, even in the places where my heart still feels shadowed and worn. In this stillness, I wait for You—not with anxiety, but with the gentle expectation that Your healing is already drawing near, like warm light slowly touching the horizon.

I open my soul to that light, trusting that Your wings of mercy will shelter and restore me. Let the darkness of this day give way to the tender glow of Your presence. Teach me to wait with reverence, to listen for the whisper of Your coming, and to breathe deeply of the peace You offer.

Tonight, I lean into Your nearness, knowing You are close enough to heal, close enough to guide, close enough to lift my face toward a new dawn. May the rising light of Your righteousness wrap around me and renew me as I rest in You.

Amen.

May the healing light of Christ’s rising draw us all into peace, renewal, and the gentle hope of a new dawn.
