Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
January 19, 2026
“For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our father; our Redeemer from of old is your name.” — Isaiah 63:16
Holy Father,
As the sun sets behind the mountains and the January chill settles over the high desert, I come to You in the stillness of this Monday evening. The day’s noise has faded, leaving only the quiet vastness of the Deming sky, and in this silence, I turn my heart to You, our true Father who has known us from of old. I release the burdens of the day into Your hands, grateful for the shelter of Your presence as the light gives way to the stars.
In the gathering darkness, I seek the light of Your Spirit to examine my heart, asking for the grace to bear with my neighbors in greater love. I acknowledge that my own strength is fleeting and my patience is often too small, yet I trust that Your power is perfect even in my weakness. Where I have failed to bridge the gaps of understanding today, I ask that You would work within those spaces, weaving unity out of our frayed edges and teaching us to trust in a bond that goes deeper than our differences.
Grant me a peaceful rest tonight, secure in the quiet confidence that You are cultivating life and growth even in the dormant winter of our struggles. Help me to trust that You can bring profound change from the smallest acts of faithfulness, and let me sleep with the assurance that You are actively redeeming every moment. I place my hope in You for the morrow, believing that Your mercies will be new with the dawn.
Amen.
May the God of all patience grant us restful sleep and strengthen us to bear with one another in love, that we may rise united in the hope of His calling.
