Friday Morning Prayer

January 16, 2026

“I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you, and praise your name forever and ever.” — Psalm 145:1-2

Gracious Lord,

As the pale winter sun begins to crest over the Florida Mountains, casting long shadows across the high desert floor, I come before You in the stillness of this Friday morning. The January air is crisp and biting here in Deming, silencing the noise of the world and inviting my spirit to wakefulness. In this quiet moment, before the rush of the day begins, I lift my heart to extol You, my God and King, acknowledging that Your greatness is beyond my understanding and Your presence fills this vast, open sky.

I confess that there are times when my faith feels small against the backdrop of life’s uncertainties, yet I know that Your power is not limited by my human frailty. Where I see only dormant brush and dry earth, You see the promise of life waiting to spring forth; where I feel weakness, You offer a strength that sustains all generations. I ask that You break through the lingering darkness of my doubts with the light of Your truth, teaching me to trust in Your mighty acts even when the path ahead seems obscured or difficult to navigate.

As I step out into the day, let my confidence rest not in my own abilities, but in Your steadfast love that upholds those who are weary. May I find purpose in the small, ordinary duties of this day, trusting that You are using them to bring about growth and change in ways I cannot yet see. Guide my words and actions so that they may reflect Your goodness to everyone I encounter, and grant me the peace of knowing that You are near to all who call upon You in truth, leading me forward with hope and renewed joy.

Amen.

May the God who sustains all things bless us with the courage to trust in His greatness, that we may walk together in light, hope, and unfailing love throughout this day.
