Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Morning Prayer
January 17, 2026
“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.” — Psalm 23:1-3
Gracious Shepherd,
The crisp air of this January Saturday rests over the high desert, and as the morning light touches the Florida Mountains, I turn my heart toward You. The stillness here in Deming reflects the quiet longing within me, a desire to pause before the day begins and acknowledge that I cannot walk this path alone. In this winter season, when the land lies dormant and the world feels vast, I find comfort in knowing that You are present in the silence, waiting to meet me with a love that casts out all fear.
I confess that my faith often feels fragile against the weight of the world, yet I trust in Your power to restore my soul and lead me to places of rest. When the way forward seems unclear or my own strength fails, remind me that You are the one who guides me beside still waters, calming the turbulence within my mind. Your strength is made perfect in my weakness, and I rely on Your steady hand to navigate the valleys and shadows, knowing that You are with me and that Your protection is absolute.
As the sun climbs higher, grant me the confidence to believe that You are bringing forth growth and change, even from the smallest seeds of trust I plant today. Lead me in right paths for Your name's sake, helping me to embrace the purpose You have for this day with a spirit of hope and obedience. I commit this Saturday to You, secure in the knowledge that Your goodness and mercy will follow me through every moment, turning my eyes toward the abundance of Your grace.
Amen.
May the Good Shepherd lead us all into the peace of this new day, guiding our steps together in love, light, and overflowing grace.
