Praying the Scriptures

Wednesday Evening Prayer

February 11, 2026

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” — John 16:13

Heavenly Father,

As the sharp chill of February settles over the high desert and the sun dips low behind me, I turn my gaze eastward to where the jagged silhouette of the Florida Mountains catches the last fleeting hues of violet and rose. In the quiet of this Wednesday evening, surrounded by the vast stillness of the valley, I feel a stirring within my soul—not a loud proclamation, but a hushed awakening that seeks You beyond the noise of the midweek rush. I acknowledge how small I stand amidst this expanse, realizing that my own understanding is as limited as the fading light, and I confess my need for a presence far greater than my own to navigate the shadows that are beginning to stretch across the land.

I ask that Your Spirit guide me through the uncertainties that cloud my mind, leading me gently into the truth that I cannot find through my own striving. Where my strength fails and my vision grows dim, I pray that You would break into my darkness with the steady assurance of Your power, which works perfectly within my weakness. Help me to listen closely to the wisdom that does not originate from the chaotic world around me, but comes directly from Your heart, declaring the things that are to come and illuminating the path one step at a time so that I may walk without fear of the unknown.

Grant me the quiet confidence to trust that You are bringing about growth and change, even now in the seeming dormancy of this winter season, bringing life from seeds of faith that appear small and insignificant. As I prepare to rest, I surrender my anxiety and the weight of this day, believing that You are cultivating a new purpose within me that will bloom in its proper time. Let me wake tomorrow with a renewed spirit, ready to embrace the day ahead not with dread, but with the hopeful expectation of the guidance You provide to those who wait upon You.

Amen.

May the Spirit of Truth guide us all into a peaceful rest, encompassing every heart in the assurance of a love that leads us safely through the night.
