Monday Morning Prayer

February 16, 2026

“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God, so that we may understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.” — 1 Corinthians 2:12

Lord,

As the dawn creeps over the jagged silhouette of the Florida Mountains this Monday morning, the high desert air is sharp and cold against the window. The world here in Deming feels hushed, the scrub brush still dormant and brittle under a faint layer of February frost, waiting for a warmth that hasn’t quite arrived yet. I stand in this quiet gray light, feeling the smallness of my own spirit against the vastness of these plains, acknowledging a lingering tiredness as the silence of the weekend gives way to the demands of the coming week.

Yet, in this stillness, I am reminded that I do not breathe in the anxious, rushing spirit of this world, but the breath of Your Spirit. My human understanding is limited, often clouding the true gifts You have placed within my reach, but I ask for the eyes to see beyond my own weakness and fatigue. Just as the sun inevitably breaks the chill of this desert morning, let Your wisdom pierce through my uncertainty, revealing the deep and hidden things You have prepared for me and teaching me to rely not on my own trembling strength, but on Your enduring power.

Grant me the quiet confidence to walk through this day with a heart open to Your leading, trusting that You can bring life even from the driest ground. If my faith feels small or my efforts unseen, remind me that You are working in the secret, silent spaces, bringing growth and change that I cannot yet perceive. Help me to move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, trusting that every task I face is an opportunity to witness Your grace, and let me rest in the assurance that I am held by a love far greater than my understanding.

Amen.

May the Spirit who searches the depths of all things fill us with the wisdom to recognize the gifts freely given, guiding our collective steps from the quiet chill of the morning into the warmth of a purposeful day.
