Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Morning Prayer
February 14, 2026
“Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” — Romans 5:1-5
Loving Father,
As the chill of this high desert morning settles over the Florida Mountains, I come to You in the quiet stillness before the town of Deming fully wakes. On this day dedicated to love, I feel the stark beauty of the winter landscape reflecting the state of my own heart—open, waiting, and in need of Your warmth. The vast, pale sky stretching over the plains reminds me of the peace I seek, a peace that stands firm even when the winds kick up the dust and obscure the path ahead. I offer You this first breath of Saturday, grateful for the silence that allows me to hear the small, steady beat of Your presence.
Just as the sun begins to crest the horizon, casting long shadows across the mesquite and yucca, I ask that Your light break through the uncertainties that linger within me. I confess that I often feel small and fragile, like a dry seed in hard soil, yet I trust that You are working in the unseen depths to bring forth life. You know the weight of the struggles I carry and the times my endurance has faltered, but I rest in the assurance that these very challenges are carving out a reservoir for Your love to fill. Let me not be discouraged by my own weakness, but instead find strength in the knowledge that Your love has been poured into my heart, a constant spring that does not disappoint.
As I step out into this day, help me to walk with a quiet confidence that You are nurturing growth even where I cannot yet see the bloom. May this Valentine’s Day be more than a celebration of fleeting affection; let it be a testament to the deep, abiding hope that anchors my soul to Yours. Grant me the grace to trust in Your timing and to believe that even the smallest acts of faith can yield a harvest of character and grace. I place my hand in Yours, ready to face the hours ahead with a spirit renewed by Your promise, knowing that I am held securely by a love that never fails.
Amen.
May the love that is poured out for one and all strengthen our spirits, uniting us in a hope that never disappoints and guiding our steps in peace.
