Thursday Morning Prayer

February 5, 2026

“I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”Psalm 9:1–2

O Lord,

As the sharp chill of this February Thursday morning settles over the high desert, I come before You with a heart striving to be whole. Here in the quiet of the Mimbres Valley, before the bustle of the day begins, I offer You my first waking breath. The winter air is thin and cold, stripping away the distractions of the night, leaving me bare and ready to recount the silent wonders You have woven into the landscape around me. In this stillness, I look for You, desiring a faith that stands as resilient as the dry earth and as vast as this open New Mexico sky.

As the pale light begins to outline the jagged peaks of the Florida Mountains, I am reminded that Your power is perfect in my weakness. I confess that my trust often falters like a flickering candle in the wind, yet I know that You are the steady dawn that breaks every shadow. I ask You to transform my hesitation into gladness, showing me that even the smallest seeds of trust I plant today can grow into something mighty under Your care. Where I see only the barrenness of late winter, help me to perceive the hidden work of Your hands, preparing the soil of my soul for a spring I cannot yet see.

Grant me the quiet confidence to walk through this day with a spirit of exultation, knowing that You are sovereign over both the grand horizons and the intimate details of my life. Let my work this Thursday be an offering of praise, not because I am capable, but because You are faithful to bring harvest from the humblest efforts. May I step out into the sunlight with a renewed vision, trusting that You are guiding my path and turning my heart toward a joy that transcends my circumstances. I rest my hope in You, who sustains the desert and my spirit alike.

Amen.

May the light that warms this winter valley shine upon each of us, uniting our hearts in a shared gladness and a peace that encompasses all.
