Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
November 25, 2024
The LORD is king! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! … The heavens proclaim his righteousness; and all the peoples behold his glory. (Psalm 97:1, 6)
Heavenly Father,
As the sun sets over the New Mexican desert, painting the sky with hues of orange and red, I am reminded of Your majesty that reigns over the earth. "The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!" I rejoice in Your sovereignty, for You are the creator of all, from the vast plains to the towering mountains.
Your righteousness and justice lay the foundation of Your throne, and the heavens proclaim Your righteousness. As the stars begin to adorn the night sky, I see the declaration of Your glory. "The heavens proclaim his righteousness; and all the peoples behold his glory." In the quiet of this evening, let my soul acknowledge Your majestic presence.
Help me to walk in the light of Your truth and grace, casting aside the shadows that strive to entrap me. Fill my heart with the assurance of Your love and the strength of Your spirit. May I rest in the comfort of knowing You are always near, guiding and guarding through the night.
Bless those who find themselves under this vast sky tonight, whether in peace or in distress. May they, too, feel Your loving presence and find comfort in Your justice and righteousness.
In Your holy name, I pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring solace and inspiration as you end your day in reflection and peace.
