Praying the Scriptures
Monday Morning Prayer
November 18, 2024
Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. (Zechariah 9:9)
Heavenly Father,
On this crisp November morning, as the sun casts a golden hue over the Florida Mountains, I come before You with a heart full of hope. I rejoice greatly in You, O Lord, and I take delight in Your presence as the earth slowly awakens.
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey."
In the quiet of this New Mexican dawn, let Your peace, which rides humbly into the bustle of our lives, settle in our hearts. As the cool breeze stirs the autumn leaves, so too may Your Spirit stir within us a renewed zeal for justice, kindness, and humility.
Guide us, O Lord, to recognize the simplicity of Your love in the everyday moments. Just as You chose a humble entry over grandeur, teach us to cherish the small, often overlooked blessings— the warmth of the sun, the gentle strength of the donkey, the promise of Your eternal peace.
Let us move through this day with the assurance of Your triumph over our trials. Strengthen our hearts to be steadfast and joyful in service to others, embodying the victory of Christ, our Savior, who comes to us as one who serves.
Bless this day, O Lord, and all who I encounter. May Your grace be evident in my actions and Your love in my words.
In the name of Jesus, who comes in humility and leaves us in awe, I pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and strength as you start your day.
