Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Morning Prayer

September 7, 2025

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. (1 Peter 1:3–4)

Lord,

I thank You for this September morning, for the coolness in the air and the gentle signs of the season’s turning. The golden light of dawn reminds me that each day is a gift of Your mercy, a fresh beginning held in Your hands.

Blessed be Your name, O God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In Your great mercy, You have given me new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Because of Him, I am not bound by despair or fear, but carried by the promise of life that cannot fade.

I place my trust in the inheritance You have kept for me—imperishable, undefiled, unfading—secure in heaven, beyond the reach of loss or decay. Let this eternal promise shape my steps today, that I may walk in faith, love, and obedience. Strengthen me to live as a witness of Your hope, honoring Christ in word and deed.

To You be glory, honor, and praise, now and forever.

Amen.

May the God of mercy and hope guide your steps this day, filling you with the strength of Christ’s resurrection and the joy of His unfading inheritance.
