The Daily Prayer
for THURSDAY, September 26, 2019
We have these verses from John of the Cross (1542-1591):
I will mourn my death already, lament the life I live, as long as misdeed, sin and wrong detain it in captivity. O my God, when will it be? The time when I can say for sure, at last I live: I die no more.
Save us, Lord, from the grip of death that so often controls our lives. Help us each to say with the psalmist, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord!” Amen.
