The Morning Prayer
Sunday, October 1, 2023

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer… Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Romans 12:12, 15 (NIV)

Dear Heavenly Father, as I rise to meet a new day, I am reminded of Your infinite grace and love. Lord, help me to be joyful in hope, even when I can't see the outcome. May my spirit be lifted by the assurance that You are in control.

As I go through this day, grant me patience in affliction. When challenges come my way, let me not be quick to despair but steadfast in my faith, remembering that You are my rock and fortress.

Father, keep me faithful in prayer. May my day be punctuated with moments of communion with You, seeking Your wisdom and offering my gratitude and supplications.

Lord, make my heart sensitive to those around me. Let me rejoice with those who rejoice, sharing in their happiness as if it were my own. And when I encounter those in sorrow, give me the compassion to mourn with them, to be a shoulder to lean on and a comforting presence.

In all things, may I reflect Your love, Your patience, and Your empathy. Thank You for another day to serve You and others. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
