The Morning Prayer for Wednesday, February 21, 2024

The Morning Prayer
Wednesday, February 21, 2024
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, in order to make her holy by cleansing her with the washing of water by the word, so as to present the church to himself in splendor, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind—yes, so that she may be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 5:25-27 (NSRV)
Heavenly Father, as the light of this new day dawns upon us, we come before You with hearts open and spirits willing. We draw inspiration from Your word in Ephesians, where it is written, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, in order to make her holy by cleansing her with the washing of water by the word, so as to present the church to himself in splendor, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind—yes, so that she may be holy and without blemish."

Lord, let this scripture guide our actions and thoughts today. Teach us to love not just in words, but in deeds and truth. As Christ gave Himself for the church, let us also give of ourselves in our relationships—with kindness, patience, and humility.

May Your love flow through us, cleansing our hearts and renewing our minds. Help us to see others through Your eyes, recognizing their worth and treating them with the respect and love they deserve. In our interactions, whether at home, work, or in our communities, let us be reflections of Your grace and mercy.

As we go through this day, let the water of Your word wash over us, purifying our intentions and actions. May we strive to present ourselves, our families, and our communities to You in splendor, free from blemish and full of Your love.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
