Wednesday Morning Prayer
April 10, 2024

We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
Romans 14:7-9

Heavenly Father, as we awaken to the light of a new day, we pause to embrace the wisdom of Your word in Romans 14:7-9. We acknowledge, O Lord, that none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. In the quiet of this morning, we remember that if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to You, our gracious God.

Thank You for the gift of this day, a precious opportunity to serve You and reflect Your love to those around us. Instill in our hearts the joy and responsibility of living for You, knowing that Christ died and rose again to be the Lord of both the living and the dead.

Guide our thoughts, words, and actions today, that they may glorify You. Help us to show compassion and understanding to our fellow beings, remembering that we are all part of Your divine creation. May we find peace in the knowledge that in life and in death, we are Yours.

In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
