Psalm 73:25-26

25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73 is a powerful and introspective piece of poetry found in the Book of Psalms in the Bible. This Psalm, traditionally attributed to Asaph, a prominent Levite musician and seer in King David's court, wrestles with the problem of evil and the prosperity of the wicked compared to the suffering of the righteous. God as the Eternal Strength and Portion: "…but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Here, the Psalmist finds solace and strength in God's eternal nature. Unlike worldly possessions and human strength, which are fleeting, God is portrayed as a constant and unending source of strength and sustenance. The term "portion" carries connotations of inheritance and sufficiency, indicating that God Himself is the Psalmist's inheritance and all that he needs for his spiritual journey.
